Community Energy Pathways (CEP) ambition is to scale up community energy as a key enabler in the transition to a clean energy future, putting people and planet first. Our first Annual Impact Report serves to inform, inspire, celebrate and engage to achieve this ambition through collaboration and broadcasting our evidence-based achievements.

2025 At A Glance
Over the past year, we have celebrated numerous milestones in advancing community energy. Our mission remains clear: to create a vibrant community energy sector and support local authorities in achieving their carbon neutrality goals, aligned with their energy and climate change strategies.
This progress has been driven by our tailored programs, which empower local people to launch a diverse range of projects, from community solar installations to innovative heat and power solutions and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Additionally, these programs offer expert advice on energy efficiency and provide vital support for vulnerable individuals.
Our Work

Building the foundations for a thriving and resilient community energy sector remains at the core of our mission. Over the past year, we have provided support, including business planning, project development assistance, fundraising guidance, governance advice, and opportunities to connect with other initiatives. The year 2025 has been our most impactful yet, marking the greatest progress and positive change we’ve seen so far.

Our advice programs are designed to meet the needs of those most affected. In 2025, we refined our approach by offering expert training for our energy champions focused on fuel poverty, energy efficiency, and low-carbon technologies. We also hosted webinars to foster peer learning and knowledge sharing. This collaborative approach not only strengthens program delivery but, supported by dedicated funding, enables groups to create local paid roles. As a result, 2025 has been our most successful year yet in delivering energy advice and reaching vulnerable communities
