Parish Energy Planning (PEP)
Our Parish Energy Pathways projects (PEPs) take a new approach to inspiring communities to take control of their energy futures. In collaboration with Test Valley Borough Council, Lewes District Council, Mid-Sussex District Council and Horsham District council, we are producing roadmaps to decarbonisation for 7 communities across the South Coast: Broughton, Houghton (Hampshire), Rodmell, Plumpton, Seaford (Lewes), Hassocks (mid-Sussex), andHenfield (Horsham)
Our PEPs fill the gap between grass-root community action and the top-down, technical solutions which are normally favoured in energy planning processes. Using a combination of community engagement, data processing and partner collaboration, these PEPs are designed to discover what is possible and desirable for a community. We then go on to provide a roadmap for group formulation, project design and securing funding opportunities.
PEPs condense the expertise of our capacity building and technical teams into an accessible, cost-effectivepackage which can be gifted to communities to build upon.
2026 will be a big year for the PEP project as we explore new funding streams and partnerships and look to train delivery partners to develop clusters of PEPs in their own communities.
“Horsham District Council are really pleased to be working with Community Energy Pathways (CEP), funding this hyper-local energy plan trial for a Parish in the Horsham district. Community Energy Pathways bring a wealth of experience to the table, and we believe this really supports our climate action and energy planning work with communities in helping decarbonise the Horsham district.”
