Energy Advice

Our “powering down” programme supports communities to deliver impartial and trusted local energy advice. This helps people make their homes more comfortable and efficient, saving money and reducing carbon emissions.

In the context of rising energy insecurity, our energy advice programmes are designed around the needs of those most affected. We understand that trust and local presence are often what enable people to seek and receive support. Community energy groups are becoming key providers of frontline help, strengthening the safety net for households and communities. Our role is to support them with community engagement, planning, funding, and training local energy champions to enable groups to reach their full potential.

Since 2023, we have leveraged over £2m to enable community energy groups to employ local people and recruit volunteers, and our energy advice programmes have reached over 20,000 households. We are grateful for our ongoing partnerships with funders that allow us to carry forward this work into 2026 and the years to come.
